After coaching in Coral Springs for 13 years, he became the Director and Head Coach for the Fort Lauderdale Diving Team. Once there Dave continued the Olympic traditions set by Dr. Ron O’Brien and son Tim O’Brien by coaching Jevon Tarantino at the 2008 Olympic Games where Jevon placed 4th with synchronized 3 meter partner Chris Colwill.
Dave has coached over 150 junior national finalists and 48 senior national finalists including 23 gold medalists at the junior nationals and 8 senior national gold medalists. Dave has been a member of the USA Diving Coaching staff for several Grand Prix events, World Series events, and the 2008 Olympic Games.

These experiences allows Dave to run the Fort Lauderdale Diving program with a great deal of knowledge and an understanding of the big picture. “We have a program that is for everyone. Just because I have coached at the Olympic Games, doesn’t mean we do not teach beginners. We have group lessons, private lessons, beginning team, national team, senior team (Olympic Level) and a Masters team (21 and older that want to dive and compete, but at a light level). Come try us out, I’m sure you will enjoy our program. Our facility is the only facility in Florida that has a full platform, bubbles under the 3 meter springboards and all the platform levels. On deck Dryland area with one trampoline and dryboard with overhead harnesses, and an indoor warm-up area. ”
